The Oratory of Santa Anna is situated on the old route from Santa Margalida, which is nowadays known as the “cemetery road”, or the Artà road. It is around 500 meters from the town’s historical centre.
The building was constructed in the 13th century, possibly by the architect Diego Español, although this is not certain. It consists of one single nave with a pitched roof supported by diaphragm arches.
A doorway with a rounded arch forms the main entrance, above which there is the image of the Mare de Deu de la Bona Nova sculpted in stone, with a crown on her head and holding Baby Jesus in her left arm who has a dove in his hands.
It was declared a BIC, a Site of Cultural Interest, in 2004.
