Alcúdia beach has been awarded the BLUE FLAG since over twenty years.

BLUE FLAG is an award given by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) that certifies the environmental quality. This promotes and rewards voluntary participation in environmental initiatives of municipal authorities, locals, visitors and companies of the tourism sector.

In order to obtain the BLUE FLAG, four tests need to be passed regarding “bathing water quality”, “environmental information and education”, “environmental management and safety” and “services and facilities”.

Alcúdia’s beach complyes with a series of excellent quality bathing water standards and requirements, without any industrial waste or sewage that may affect the beach or its surroundings.

As for environmental management , the municipality of Alcúdia is committed to respecting the current regulations on coast and spatial planning and management by maintaining a clean coastline , promoting selective waste collection and not allowing camping or circulation of vehicles .

Finally , Alcudia beach has lifeguards during the bathing season in charge of rescue operations , as well as drinking water points , map of the beach and easy and safe access.
